The whole region of Bangladesh will be 'unstable' for the Rohingyas.
In mid-2017, Rohingyas deported from Myanmar's Rakhine state made their way to Bangladesh. With their temporary shelter in the logic of humanity, misery is now in Bangladesh itself. Although several meetings were held with the aim of repatriation, none of them came to fruition. In addition, there are now more than 1.4 million Rohingyas who have fled. Myanmar is indifferent to the question of taking them back.
In such a situation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took part in a high-level virtual meeting on Rohingya on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday. He expressed frustration over the inaction of all, including Myanmar, in resolving the crisis. He said Bangladesh has not forgotten the welfare of Rohingyas in the Corona Challenge. In the face of the Corona epidemic challenge, we have included the Rohingya in the national vaccination plan.
The Prime Minister said Myanmar did not respond to bilateral and multilateral efforts to repatriate the Rohingya. However, he hoped that the UN would soon come forward on the issue of relocation of Rohingyas to Bhasanchar.
During the talks, the Prime Minister said that our government is working bilaterally with Myanmar, including regional powers China and India. But sadly nothing of the return has been finalized. To date, no one has been able to reach their homeland.
Stating that the current military situation in Myanmar has created uncertainty on the issue of repatriation, Sheikh Hasina said the Rohingyas cannot be turned away by word of mouth. Although the current situation in Myanmar has created uncertainty in return, there is no need to be reluctant to find a solution. Not just word of mouth, effective united initiatives must be taken to bring back the Rohingyas.
The Prime Minister also expressed concern that if the situation could not be resolved soon, the entire region would be at risk. If this crisis is prolonged, it will create security risks. This can lead to increased crime activity. Even extremism can escalate. This risk can create an unstable environment throughout the region.
OIC representatives from the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the European Union spoke in support of Bangladesh's repatriation.
Basically, because Bangladesh is a weak country, no one is working on the Rhinga issue in such a way. Even though they have repeatedly promised, they have not solved this problem till date.
On the other hand, if this had happened to China or India, the Rohingyas would have been repatriated to their homeland long ago. Otherwise, India and China would have tortured and killed the Rohingyas.
As Bangladesh is not taking any tough decision, the world court is not giving much importance to the issue of Rhinga.
Not only that, even if the Rhingas were not Muslims but followers of other religions, the UN would gossip about them. Atai is basically the main behavior of the United Nations.
